Workshop Announcement

Emerging Technologies for
Operator Cooperation

Novembet 10th 2006, 9:30-16:00

Düsseldorf Linder Congress Hotel

An Ambient Networks Workshop esp. for Network Operators

This workshop is organized by the IST project Ambient Networks
( The project is part of the Wireless World Initiative ( Recently, Ambient Networks has initiated the study item on network composition in 3GPP. In the context of this work, it is important to get feedback from the operator community and to present and discuss our work

The goal of the workshop is to provide telecom operators with a concentrated day on the state of the art technologies regarding multi-domain developments, enabling dynamic coopetition – cooperation and competition at the same time.

In this one-day operator workshop there will be plenty of room for discussions in between presentations by invited operators and the Ambient Networks project.

Presentations for this workshop will be primarily explaining the options developed in the Ambient Networks

What’s in it for you?

Cooperation of networks and interoperability of network services like mobility, security and QoS across heterogeneous access technologies is a matter of increasing strategic importance. What technologies are emerging to address those issues? This question will be addressed at this workshop, and you will be given opportunity to provide feedback and influence the further direction of the work.

At the workshop, participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the advances and technologies developed that Ambient Networks will enable, but also the challenges still ahead.

For whom? Decision makers and strategy advisors from the operator community.
